About

The Digital Ireland Conference is a high-level, one-day event on 18 April in Dublin Castle, that brings together government, industry, and academia to exchange views on digital developments in the EU and globally.

Minister of State for Company Regulation, Digital and Trade Promotion, Dara Calleary TD, will be joined by senior tech figures, EU and global political leaders, and innovators to exchange views on digital technologies and how they are shaping business and society.

Mr Roberto Viola, Director General of the European Commission Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology will deliver a keynote address.

The first of two panel discussions will discuss global digital developments and implementation of digital regulation, and will be moderated by Professor Jane Suiter, School of Communications, DCU.

The second panel will focus on Artificial Intelligence, and the opportunities of the digital transformation. This panel will be moderated by Dr Patricia Scanlon, Chair of AI Advisory Council and Ireland’s AI Ambassador.

Panellists will include a range of expert speakers offering domestic, international, industry, regulatory, government and expert perspectives.

The Conference will be a half-day afternoon event, with registration from 12.30, and the opening address at 13.00. The event will conclude with a networking reception at 17.30 to allow attendees to reflect on the day’s proceedings, catch up with peers, and make new connections.

Dublin Castle is situated in the heart of Dublin city centre, on Dame Street and is easily accessible by public transport, including bus and tram services.

Many bus routes stop on nearby Dame Street, Lord Edward Street and George’s Street including the 9, 13, 15, 16,  27, 40, 49, 54a, 56a, 65, 68, 68a, 77a, 122, 123, 140, 150 and 151 (plan your bus journey here).
